Simulations 103-115

I believe the summary for this excerpt is in Baudrillards response to Monods thoughts on scientific discourse: “You couldn’t say it better: that science has selected itself a generating formula, a model discourse, upon faith of (objective reality) conventional order.” I believe this statement to be true for the fact that science which is a realm of study based off of discovery and understanding of the world around us, is way too governed and controlled by conventional order. I’m sure though, that there’s private organizations that are much further in “classified” scientific discovery than the general public can even fathom. Here within the realm of the general public,  scientific discourse serves as a shield against discoveries that would challenge our objective reality. The question is, is this shield to protect us or to protect those in power?
